Fishy Business

Concern over the environmental and welfare aspects of the meat and dairy industries is on the rise, but what about the world of fish farming?

For those who want to protect the world’s oceans from deep sea trawling and over fishing, farmed fish seem like the ethical solution. Dr Krzysztof Wojtas from Compassion in World Farming argues that we should consider more deeply the lives of these fish and their capabilities for feeling pain and emotion. Joining him are Heena Modi, a Jain and a vegan activist, and Kwabena Oppong, a recent convert to a Pescatarian (fish-based) diet.

Led by presenter Mark Dowd, the panel brings fish welfare to the foreground and explores how we can eat ethically.
