A Self-Centred Church?

Much of what puts people with a spiritual interest off organized religion centres on the behaviour of those within churches and other religious institutions.

Roger Bolton challenges three guests from within the Church of England – all priests – on whether their endless debates over women bishops and gay rights have damaged the church’s core message, and whether it’s time to take a break from those rows and focus on those who are really most in need.

His guests are Sally Hitchiner, chaplain at Brunel University; Lucy Winkett, Rector of St James’s Piccadilly; and Rod Thomas, vicar of St Matthew’s Elburton, Plymouth, and a council member of Reform, a group opposed to the ordination of women.
