Death: In Search of the Soul

Two-thirds of us believe that we have a soul. But how do we know, and what difference does it make for how we die?
And at a time when reports of Near Death Experiences abound in the media, how do such accounts sit with Hindu and Christian beliefs about the soul?
Alison Hilliard goes in search of the soul with three guests: Geetha Maheshwaran, a Hindu responsible for religious education at the Shree Ganapathy temple in London; the Rev Sue Clarke, an Anglican priest and a medical doctor; and Peter Fenwick, a neuropsychiatrist at the Institute of Psychiatry at King’s College London and author of the book, ‘The Art of Dying.’
